Where is Jimmy Stewart?

***This is not meant to be an offensive post and I was going to remove it but I feel the need to speak out against whats going on. Also, I have been involved in the court system in NY and I can tell you what a horror that is. It's not funny it messes with people's lives and seems to do everything to protect the guilty.

And please feel free to leave your opinion whether or not it agrees with mine.

I don't usually follow politics but this health care bill has caught my attention. Did I hear correctly that this new health care plan will pay for abortions and take money away from the older people in this country like my parents. The people who fought in the wars and made this place a great place to live. And paying for abortions. :( Today watching this on tv reminded me of Mr. Smith goes to Washinton. Its about a corrupt government and a bill being pushed through. It seems like they are in a hurry to push this bill through. I don't like this president , he's scary and he is destroying our country. For anyone who has never seen that movie, watch it, where is our Jimmy Stewart to save the day?

I'm glad someone other than me feels this way too!

I'm glad you posted too (too often it's scary to voice your opposition, there seems very little tolerance for disagreeing). I feel the same way.

I agree. I don't dislike the president but he doesn't represent my views and ideals. I understand why people like him, I just don't think they understand the true gravity of what this bill (and others like them sure to come) will do to our country and freedoms.

Sometimes I think people believe that the government makes money (no, it is our money that has to pay for everything) And knowing that the government doesn't do anything well, is wasteful and corrupt doesn't lend itself to my wanting to make it bigger.

And no, I do not support abortions nor do I want my money paying for them. I understand that women have the right to them, so be it, but not at my expense for sure.

Thanks for voicing your opinion. I agree with you. We do need to stand against it and call our senators. At least as a single person we can do that.

100% AGREE!!! OOOH, lately politics (well, really since this president) has been my hot topic button!!! There are so many things that he is doing that I cannot believe are even legal!!! Pardoning disaster relief debts in order to receive a vote?? Thinking that rationing mammograms and paps is not what government regulated healthcare would be?? I am not so sure...I am really worried that there are too many people that are not staying on top of these very important issues and watching closely to what is happening...I pray for our country, its people, but especially for our president that he gains some knowledge and starts making wiser decisions...
