Sew along with mom! I started sewing at age 7. This is the first in a series of Sewing Tutorials geared for girls ages 5 6 7 and 8
Those are a few pages from the EBook. Mom gets and EBook and a skirt sewing tutorial and your little girl gets a specially written sewing tutorial in her "language" and the same skirt pattern for her doll.
This is my favorite ebook so far! I have lots of experience working with and around children. When my dd was in 1st grade, I had the briilliant idea (NOT!) to let every child, 100 of them, design and make their own doll from scratch. There were 100 completly different dolls. It was an experience I will never forget and I hope one that proved memorable for the kids.
This tutorial is the EBOOK of the Day, TODAY!

What a great idea! My 8 year-old spent 3 days over Christmas vacation with my parents so my mom could start teaching her how to sew. She made aprons for all the girls in the family for Christmas. It's such a wonderful skill to learn. It's one of my goals this next year & since my mom bought us a new machine for Christmas (I had her 70's hand-me-down) I feel like it's a reachable goal.
Brilliant idea! I love it. Thanks for the post.
